The webinar was held on 02 April 2024, within Energy Poverty Advisory Hub (EPAH) Initiative. It had 26 participants– representatives of local authorities-municipalities, municipal associations, energy agencies, consultancy centres, NGO, etc.
The presentations show that the issue with energy poverty is very topical for Bulgaria as it is the country with the biggest share of population affected in EU, and that local authorities/municipalities take initiative and apply measures to ease the dire situation but the huge delays in policy and legislative frameworks still hamper the coherent answer to the problem because the lack of proper register of energy vulnerable citizens, as well as the delays in the financial assistance schemes.
The main issues discussed at the webinar were focusing on the effective ways and measures to combat energy poverty, which are at the disposal of local authorities, and the ways to extend the scope of the good practices presented, and to replicate them in other locations
