„Increasing Capacities in Cities for Innovative Financing in Energy Efficiency“

The main goal of the project mainstreaming and replication of innovative financing models for energy efficiency in buildings. The project helps European local authorities to develop their own financing solutions and kick-start energy efficiency retrofits in their communities, and guides municipalities and regions through the whole process, from choosing the best innovative financing model and gathering all necessary partners through developing action plans, building dedicated teams and starting the tendering of actual projects.

The idea of the project is to prepare Tailored Financing Schemes as well as a balanced legal and institutional system which would initiate in countries of concern the wide-scale rehabilitation of social housing starting with involvement of public money and in the close future to develop the system which would be attractive and safe for participation of private/commercial investors as well.
