The energy transition starts with skills. The question is how to prepare the specialists we need for the renovation of the building stock, the transition to renewable energy and adaptation to climate change?
On May 26, 2026, a seminar “Building skills and knowledge to accelerate the energy transition and adaptation to climate change” will be held. The event will start at 1:00 p.m., Hall A of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Sofia.
The seminar will present the results of current European and national initiatives aimed at developing professional competencies in key areas for the green transition. Topics include improving the skills of RES installers in buildings, the use of virtual reality for training construction specialists with live demonstrations, the preparation of experts in One-Stop-Shops for home renovation, as well as the creation and management of energy communities.
Special attention will be paid to the role of municipalities in climate change adaptation and the opportunities for converting regional potential into renewable energy. The event will end with a presentation of the European initiative BUILD UP Skills United for improving construction skills and a general discussion.
The seminar is aimed at construction professionals, trainers, representatives of industry organizations, municipal specialists and all those interested in accelerating the energy transition in Bulgaria.
The event is organized by the Energy Efficiency Center EnEffect, Sofia Energy Center, Black Sea Research Energy Center, Chamber of Installation Specialists in Bulgaria, Regional Energy Agency – Pazardzhik and others.
