Round Table “Ways and Approaches to Fight Energy Poverty”

On 04 July 2024 from 11:00 till 12:45 hours, Sofia Energy Centre organised a round table “Ways and Approaches to Fight the Energy Poverty”, part of Energy Poverty Advisory Hub (EPAH) Initiative, funded by the European Union. The round table was held in the framework of the Conference “The Mayors Speak. Join Forces in the Fight against Climate Change”, as a complementary event of the programme of 61 Session of Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, 2024, Bulgaria. The event was welcomed by the Mayor of Gabrovo Municipality, Mrs. Tanya Hristova, and was attended by 59 participants in person and 70 registered participants online, among which mayors and representatives of local authorities-municipalities, municipal associations, energy agencies, consultancy centres, NGO, etc. The main issues discussed were focused on the practical approaches taken by municipalities and other relevant stakeholders to support the vulnerable groups, mostly affected by the transition to sustainable economy, and to help alleviate the negative effects of the energy poverty.
